The compact phono combines flexible MM/MC compatibility with compact dimensions and straightforward operation. Switching between MM and MC mode is done at the touch of a button. With 40 dB gain for MM and 60 dB for MC, it is designed to work with a wide range of commonly used cartridges and integrates easily into different hi-fi systems.
Whether Moving Magnet or Moving Coil, the compact phono is designed for both cartridge types. In MM mode, it operates with an input impedance of 47 kΩ / 100 pF and 40 dB gain; in MC mode, it provides 100 Ω / 100 pF and 60 dB gain. Switching between modes is quick and easy at the touch of a button.
This flexibility also makes it easy to change cartridges at a later stage.
The delicate signal generated by a phono cartridge places particular demands on amplification and signal processing. A low-noise, two-stage circuit provides the necessary gain, while RIAA equalization ensures accurate processing of the phono signal.
With an RIAA accuracy of ± 0.5 dB from 20 Hz to 50 kHz, total harmonic distortion of less than 0.0065% and channel separation of more than 80 dB at 1 kHz, the compact phono provides the technical foundation for clean and balanced vinyl playback.
An integrated subsonic/ultrasonic filter additionally reduces unwanted interference outside the relevant frequency range.
Measuring just 80 × 115 × 26 mm, the compact phono requires very little space and can be easily integrated into existing systems, even where space is limited.
The robust metal housing protects the electronics while complementing the unit’s understated design. The compact phono is available in black and silver.
